Preparation for Gathering 5

On a Michigan funny farm there are three inmates, each of whom believes he is Jesus Christ. They are all correct, of course, but when they learned the secret—that all are divine if only they know they are divine—they became confused and behaved in a
manner that led them to the loony bin. Their culture hadn't prepared them for divine revelations. It hadn't even encouraged them to ask the only important question—"Who am I?"—let alone taught them to give the only logical reply.

As we consider together the idea of spiritual teachers, we may want to make a distinction between Jesus and the christ. Jesus asked the disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"

Please bring to our next meeting your answer to his question.
Who do you say Jesus is?
What is your understanding of the terms "the christ," "the buddha," "the messiah"?
Share some of what you know about religious leadership.
When times are hard,
What is saving or redeeming for you?
What gets you through?
What keeps you going?
What's possible?
In response to these questions, bring your thoughts, experiences, Images, stories, words, and drawings to share with the Group.
Thank you.
